Below is a synopsis of the movie we will be viewing.

This enormously powerful film, The World According to Monsanto chronicles Monsanto’s controversial past: A history that combines some of the most toxic products ever sold with misleading reports, pressure tactics, collusion, and attempted corruption. They now race to genetically engineer (and patent) the world’s food supply, a frightening strategy which profoundly threatens our health, environment, and economy. Exposing secret documents with first-hand accounts by victims, scientists, and politicians, this widely praised film exposes why Monsanto has become the world’s poster child for malignant corporate influence in government and technology. How have our leaders come to see support for such jury-rigged systems – systems that mask and disperse responsibility, while simultaneously spreading and intensifying risk – as somehow in the national interest?….
